WHY?

Ambatolampy (kp 68- RN7-MADAGASCAR) became a crossing town a few years ago. Ambatolampy has a lot of authentic tourist spots showcasing local craft creation and display. There is much to learn from Ambatolampy through it's newly created interpretation center. The center has been named 104 after Ambatolampy's postal code. The interpretation center is movable.

CONCEPT & ADVANTAGE

All spots will be illustrated by photos with short and clear explanations translated into three languages (Malagasy, French, English). The explanations will highlight the science involved in the created crafts and provide information about local culture. The visit to center is free. The center is a tourist information point that can be visited in 30mn or less. The center has much information on tours available to the local craft locations.

GOAL

The goal of the center is education and promotion Ambatolampy. Working with local population, the center allows visitors to contribute to sustainable development and enjoy in responsible tourism. All local visits  are organized by local guides. 

​

 

MOBILITY

During the mobility, the signs that are in Ambatolampy remain on the spot, but they are posters in duplicate (in tarpaulin) that travel. The idea is just to tell yourself that if everyone can not visit a place, this may be the place that can visit everyone.

FREE

Although the visit to the center is free, aluminum statuettes bearing the image of international football teams are on sale as souvenirs. They are made of aluminum residues by local craftsmen and painted by a group of women who paint table football.

​

ACCESS

Located at La Pineta, the center allows travelers to take a short great break when driving between Antananarivo and Antsirabe. La Pineta is a peaceful place that suggests lots of activities and services.
